Abstract

Stunting known as chronic nutritional problem that can impact children's growth and development. In Indonesia, stunting is still the main topic of nutritional problems with a high prevalence rate. Consumption of fast food (junk food) in teenagers is related to the incidence of stunting in toddlers. Intake of nutritious food during adolescence can be an effort to prevent stunting in toddlers. This research was conducted with the aim of evaluating the effectiveness of the Emotional Demonstration (Emo Demo) method in increasing knowledge about stunting among targeted teenagers. The study was conducted on all 8th grade students at MTs Rahmatul Basyar with 10 participants in one batch. Emo demo is carried out on targets through games to achieve goals by consuming healthy food. Measuring tools to measure knowledge about stunting and nutritious food among targets use pre-test and post-test. The results show a significant increase in the average adolescent knowledge score regarding stunting from 7.9 at the beginning before the Emo Demo was carried out among students, increasing to 8.6 after the Emo Demo was carried out. Aspects of knowledge related to healthy food, understanding stunting, and preventing stunting show an increase in good criteria. This shows that the Emo Demo method can be considered effective in increasing teenagers' understanding of stunting. The Emo Demo method has the potential to be an appropriate and relevant educational strategy to support efforts to reduce stunting prevalence through a youth-based approach.
