ANIMAL FEED PROCESSING TO IMPROVE THE AVAILABILITY AND NUTRITION OF GOAT FEED IN DARSONO VILLAGE, JEMBER REGENCY
Keywords:
Feed Processing, Goat Farming, FermentationAbstract
Goat farming is an important source of income for families. However, the goat farmers in Darsono Village still manage their farms using traditional methods, which limits their ability to provide sufficient feed and nutrition for their livestock. To address this issue, it is necessary to implement animal feed processing techniques. The purpose of this community service activity was to enhance the knowledge and skills of goat farmers in Darsono Village regarding animal feed processing. This community service activity was carried out in three stages: coordination of the activity plan, training on livestock feed processing, and on-site guidance on practical feed processing techniques. Participants in this program include goat farmers who represent various farmer groups in Darsono Village. They have shown great enthusiasm during the extension and training sessions and have demonstrated skill in processing animal feed, particularly in fermentation techniques. With these newly acquired skills, goat farmers will be better equipped to meet their livestock's feeding and nutritional needs, ultimately increasing goat productivity.
